Big City Bright Future is run by IntoUniversity and is an annual three-week paid internship program designed specifically for school leavers who want to work in the city. Our programme consists of a series of assignments with appropriate guidance, so you must have completed either GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) or two years of a relevant law degree for the internship to be useful for you. Throughout your internship, you will typically get to know a variety of departments and many different legal processes. The most notable volunteer project in law is pro bono work – providing free legal advice to those who are not eligible for legal aid and who would not have the means to help them. First week: A week in the BCLP offices to get a real insight into the daily work of lawyers through observation, as well as information on the different pathways to the profession and a series of skills sessions. Allen & Overy`s Smart Start program provides young people in public schools with access to a high-quality work experience program in London. Through workshops and team challenges, students will gain the skills needed to succeed in the legal profession, including analysis, business awareness, and negotiation tactics. By participating in Smart Start, students can apply for additional work experience with some of A&O`s top clients and attend a University of Sussex summer school. Every day is filled with information about life in a global company through tailor-made workshops and presentations that help students better understand the day-to-day role of a trainee lawyer. Students will also receive good advice on how to highlight leave program and training contract applications. Various law firms are looking for campus ambassadors to strengthen their presence on the university campus and coordinate events. These positions are generally paid per semester or academic year.

Take workshops on skills to increase your employability The internship allows students to gain hands-on experience in a department and gain information from partners and the recruitment team, as well as the opportunity to network informally with interns to learn more about their experiences. The Excellerator program includes one week of experience working with Slaughter and May during the Easter break, followed by a week in the Social Mobility Business Partnership`s Insight program during the summer break. The Dickinson`s Experience Womble Bond program is suitable for students 16 years of age and older who wish to graduate from high school and gain their first work experience. Week Two: A week in which a different organization is visited each day in various sectors, including sports, financial services and media. During the week, students learn how law firms interact with their clients and the different roles lawyers play in these organizations. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We are now accepting applications for internships! Every internship is different, our internships are designed to give students the best opportunity to make the most of their time at KN. Free and open to students and graduates of any discipline, the programs are self-learning at your convenience. You`ll gain insight into the fast and innovative projects lawyers and articling students are working on, and gain valuable skills by taking on realistic legal tasks. The course as a whole provided a wealth of information. Even though I`m studying law, it was great to see how that translates into reality.

The peculiarity of these tasks is the inclusion of a variety of factors to consider – this really allowed me to develop my thinking in a nuanced way that applies concisely to the situation at hand. In this context, the conversation with the articling students/paralegals was an experience that I really noticed. It was really reassuring to talk to people who have gone through the process. They have given some really constructive advice that I will certainly bring to the application process.
