A branch may use the name of the company or adopt a separate name – usually the name of the company with the annex «Irish Branch». New businesses must have a different name than another already registered business (i.e., the reserved name cannot be the same or substantially identical to the name of an existing registered corporation). A limited liability company must have «Limited» or «Tapui (Limited)» in its name. In addition, some names are expressly protected or restricted and cannot be used (for example, the use of «royal» in a business name) and cannot be used.
