Riffer Music Definition

As Beethoven said, «music can change the world,» and that`s our goal. We want to involve as many people as possible around the world and create a real music community. That`s why we give our artists the opportunity to record musician friends who are on tour to create a bond that will one day give birth to new musical projects. Riffer Music supports several non-profit organizations, some of which are our partners. We care about the environment and associations that use music for social purposes. Riffer is instant musical bliss; It`s the milk of the melody, the cold beer of the bass lines. Road to some drum samples and it becomes the rump of rhythms. You can use it to shape sounds on synthesizers, pull a melody or rhythm out of nowhere, or find a melody that looks fabulous in your music settings. It even has an infinite button that it uses to create a new pattern in each loop. Set it to a slow quantization and with a slightly pinched sound with a long delay, you have an ambient set that could last forever. You don`t need to rely on Riffer to generate the patterns.

You can write your own notes, choose your own duration, and reduce the speed. But why would you do that when a much more exciting, ravishing, music-amplifying riff awaits you when you make another click? And when you`re happy with your model, you can save it as a preset or drag the MIDI data into your DAW. Since I had always been interested in music and everything behind it, I saw in my years of organizational experience that something was missing. It was too complicated and mechanical. Artists, on the other hand, often pay website membership fees just to find an audience that can be engaged. Often, artists only play as a hobby and they have a real job to secure an economic income. It`s a vicious cycle for both, and most of the time, the event manager calls groups that have already played, or friends of friends. For budding artists, it becomes a challenge to make themselves known. Audiomodern`s Riffer is an idea generator or, technically, a smart MIDI tool (for iOS and desktop platforms) that creates unique sequences and melodies (see our original Ritter feature to learn more about this). Riffer was originally released in 2015. Over the past five years, the Audiomodern team (see also the current new version Opacity II) has been constantly improving the plugin. A few days ago, they announced Riffer 3, a major update that makes it better than ever.

On the room side, it is tedious to find a group for a party, contact them to set the price and dates, and find out if they are good. This time is not available to them because they have other tasks to do. Not to mention that «no shows» can jeopardize the entire concert and the reputation of the organizers. How can they trust a group they don`t even know? It all starts with an idea. Ideas are what change the world, and to come up with a good idea, you have to be creative, you have to let go of traditional viewpoints and make the stranger familiar and familiar. • Polyphonic mode with multi-riff motor • Density function • Performance mode • MIDI learning • Preset sharing on different devices There`s a lot more to say about Riffer 3, but this app/plugin is so much fun that I invite you to try it for yourself. It`s so easy to get lost in Riffer, and that`s always a good sign. It`s one of those instant gratification plugins, and yet it has enough features to keep you entertained for a long time. I also like the fact that there are 57 ladders available, and you can design your own.

MIDI Learn is another interesting bonus, especially if you`re using Riffer in a live performance. Then I started adding randomization features. Riffer gives you a good degree of control over the randomization of its parameters (pitch, speed, duration, and density (it`s essentially a note repeat). In this case, I set Riffer so that the speed and density are random, but only a few notes from one of the riffs to get some consistency. It all started many years ago, when I had the idea to simplify the organization of concerts and make it safer. By concert, I don`t mean the big multinationals that organize events in stadiums. I mean the little nights in clubs, pubs, etc. where everyone goes at least once a week.

Once I had something in Riffer, it was easy to try other ideas and variations. I plugged in a MIDI keyboard and was able to quickly transpose one or even all the sequences at once. Interestingly, the plugin was instantly able to hear my controller buttons – no installation or configuration required! Riffer is a random MIDI melody generator plug-in from AudioModern and is available as a VST/VST3/AU & AAX plugin for Mac OS and Windows as well as an iOS app. Click on the cube and it creates a new line of monophonic melody (or riff) each time – and everyone wins. It uses a piano-roll style interface in the middle of the GUI with options and settings set around it. Riffer will distribute scores on each part of the piano roll in sight. The range can be adjusted from one to 10 octaves and from two to 64 steps. You can choose the number of notes generated in your defined area and specify the length of the loop.

Overall, Riffer 3 is a fantastic update. The new features make it an awesome idea generator, it`s extremely well designed, and the best part is that. It`s free for existing users! If you`re not a Ritter user yet, well. No more excuses. Did I mention it`s a bargain ($39 for the desktop version and $7.99 for the iOS app)? Poly mode with the Multi-Riff Engine. Well, that alone is worth the price of admission! I took a quick look at it with Mainstage and was delighted with what I saw. With a single instance of Riffer 3 (Alchemy Driving), I created three different tracks that set up three of the four possible riff engines – I found that three were enough in this case. Humanization can be found in the shuffle tuning, which very quickly changes from a soft lily to deep grooves and then to almost double notes.

And in the shift function, which pushes notes off the grid for a less quantified feel. In addition to an already inspiring array of features, Riffer 3 comes with: If you`ve ever faced the empty piano roll of despair, then you need Riffer. If you couldn`t pin down that bass line, you`ll need Riffer. If you just want to put a melody in a synthesizer, then you need a riff. Riffer will bring you back from the creative abyss; it will invigorate your lower extremity; It will draw melodies from the ether and put a smile on your face. That`s everything we love about hardware and modular step sequencing inserted into your DAW or iPhone and offered with a roll of the dice. The notes themselves are random in pitch, duration (length of the door) and volume (speed). You can limit the step to one of 54 scales, set the key, and switch and switch on the go. The height, duration and volume can be changed and overwritten individually.

They can be locked to prevent them from participating in the next roll of the dice, allowing you to find new rhythms and intonations while maintaining the melody. Notes can be linked or held, and you can move the sequence forward, backward, or ping-pong.
